Chiwetel Ejiofor was born on the 10th of July, 1977 in Forest Gate, London to Nigerian parents, Obiajulu and Arinze Ejiofor. His father was a doctor and his mother was a pharmacist. Tragedy struck early in Chiwetel’s life when he and his father were involved in a fatal car accident in Nigeria, resulting in the death of his father. Despite the trauma, Ejiofor developed a passion for acting which he pursued vigorously from a young age. He later attended London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts(LAMDA), laying the foundation for his highly successful acting career in both film and theatre.
