John Chancellor  was born in 1927. He was the son of Christopher Chancellor and Sylvia Paget. John had three siblings, two sisters and a brother.

John was a publisher, author and bibliophile. He passed away on 31st December 2014. John had three children with his wife, Mary Jolliffe.

Mary Alice Jolliffe is the mother of Anna Chancellor. She was born on 1 November 1937 to William George Hervey Jolliffe, 4th Baron Hylton of Hylton and Lady Perdita Rose Mary Asquith. Mary first got married to John Paget Chancellor, son of Sir Christopher John Chancellor and Sylvia Mary Paget, on 31 January 1959. They gave birth to three children. Mary’s husband, John died at age 87 on 31st December 2014. Unfortunately there is no known details of her educational or occupational background.
