Back in 1871, the Wellington, Grey and Bruce Railway made Listowel important for shipping things. There are old places in the town, like the Listowel Memorial Arena. Apart from his success in comedy, Jared played roles like “Don Cherry” in television series like, “Keep Your Head Up Kid: The Don Cherry Story” and “The Wrath of Grapes: The Don Cherry Story II”, winning awards like the Leo Award and Gemini Award.

He has been in other films like “Eve’s Christmas (2004)”, “Seventeen & Missing(2006)”, “The Death & Life of John F. Donovan(2018)”, “Shoresy(2022)” and more.

Jared Keeso’s Early Childhood

He spent his early years in Listowel, which is known for its rich history and community. His parents were Anne and Richard Keeso.

The Keeso family has a longstanding connection to the Keeso Sawmill Company, established in 1872, and they were the owners and operators of this business. Before pursuing his career in acting, Jared Keeso spent many years actively involved in the operations of the sawmill. The sawmill was destroyed in September, 2018 by a fire.

Keeso also spent his childhood playing junior hockey which is a major sport in Listowel township. His father was a coach to him and his siblings. He played with future two-time Stanley Cup Champion, Jeff Carter while playing for the Strathroy Rockets of the WOHL and the Listowel Cyclones of the GOJHL.
