Born on 28th October, 1963 in Bristol, Pennsylvania, Holly has been active in the industry since the late 1980s. Holly was born to Grant Holly, a screenwriter and professor and Michael Ann Holly, a renowned art historian. She grew up in Geneva, New York and developed an interest in acting at a young age. The renowned “What Women Want” actress has two brothers, Nick Holly and Alexander Innes Holly. Not much is known about her brothers, as they have chosen to stay out of the public eye. 

However, it is reported that Nick Holly was a writer and producer who was famous for “Sons & Daughters,” “The Weekend” and “The LeBrons”. He was married to Faith Salie from 2005 to 2009. He died on the 21st November, 2022 from cancer in Santa Monica.

The legendary Hollywood actress is the daughter of Grant Holly, a Professor of English at the Hobart and William Smith College who died on the 8th of November, 2022. Prior to his death, he earned his Ph.D. from the University of Rochester and wrote screenplays, and TV pilots and was well known for the books, “Angel Crest(2002)”, “Robbers(2000)” and “First Light(2017)”.

Her mother in the hand is Michael Ann Holly, a well-acclaimed art historian who has written books on historiography and the theory of art history. She earned her doctorate in art history from Cornell University and served as the Starr Director of the Research and Academic Programme at the Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute in Williamstown, Massachusetts. She is a member of many fellows including the Guggenheim Foundation.
