Jason Ritter is an American actor and producer best known for his appearances as Kevin Girardi in Joan of Arcadia, Ethan Haas in The Class, Sean Walker in The Event, Dipper Pines in Gravity Falls, and Pat Rollins in Raising Dion on television. His father was the late sitcom star John Ritter. Due to his father’s stardom as an actor, Jason Ritter faced higher expectations while growing up as an actor. Jason made his feature film debut in Mumford (1999), playing a minor role from there he has starred in a lot of movies.

Jason Morgan Ritter was born in Los Angeles, California, on February 17, 1980, to actresses Nancy Morgan and John Ritter. He is the grandson of Tex Ritter (who died six years before Ritter was born) and Dorothy Fay, both actresses. Amy Yasbeck, an actress, is his stepmother. Ritter has three siblings, one of them is actor Tyler Ritter.

He went to middle and high school with Simon Helberg, who later became his flatmate at NYU, at the Crossroads School in Santa Monica, California. He afterwards went to the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University, where he studied with the Atlantic Theatre Company, and received his degree there. In London, he also pursued his education at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.

From October 1999 till 2013, Ritter was romantically linked to Marianna Palka. They got to know one another while attending the Atlantic Theatre Company in New York City to study. Ritter and Melanie Lynskey lated dated for four years before getting engaged in 2017. In December 2018,the couple welcomed their first child their first child who was a a girl.
