Antoine Semenyo is one of the football players who has had a tough time coming up as a professional football player. After having unsuccessful trials for London clubs Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Millwall.  At the age of 15, he was rejected by Crystal Palace after an eight-week trial. He initially decided to give up on becoming a professional footballer before Dave Hockaday convinced him to join his youth academy program at South Gloucestershire and Stroud College.

Semenyo started developing as a player at South Gloucestershire and Stroud College which later caught the eyes of teams like Birmingham, Bristol City and Crystal Palace, he decided to settle for Bristol academy. He was then loaned to several teams including Bath City, New Port County and others and finally came back to join Bristol’s first team in 2020.

Semenyo was later signed by Bournemouth in 2023 for $12 million on a four-year contract. Semenyo started making a name for himself briefly after joining Bournemouth, he played there for 3 years until a juicy deal from Manchester City came knocking and he couldn’t resist.

Semenyo signed for Manchester City on 9 January 2026 for a whooping fee of £64 million which will last for over five years. He hasn’t failed to put the ball in the net since he joined the Manchester club.
