The top-notch basketball player attended Heathwood Hall Episcopal School in Columbia, South Carolina, where she excelled both academically and athletically. Her time at Heathwood Hall was marked by many accolades, including being named the National High School Player of the Year.
After graduating from high school, A’ja continued her education at the University of South Carolina. There, she majored in Mass Communications while simultaneously leading the South Carolina Gamecocks to unprecedented heights in women’s college basketball. During her college career, A’ja was a three-time SEC Player of the Year and helped her team secure their first NCAA Championship in 2017. Her academic and athletic achievements at the University of South Carolina laid a solid foundation for her professional career in the WNBA.
